Valentine's gifts

Note to significant others and spouses alike: Valentine’s Day is days away. Surely, I don’t need to tell you that a little sparkle goes a long way—but here’s an insider tip: You don’t have to shell out an arm and a leg to get to your honey’s heart. Great jewelry is great jewelry, no matter the carat count or the preciousness.

Say you’re newly smitten. A signet ring never goes out of style, but an heirloom with a storied past from The Moonstoned is so much more. Affianced? Make her day (without dipping into the wedding budget) with Jennifer Fisher’s single-script “Mrs” hoop. Watch a team of blacksmiths make Shovel Knight’s iconic weapon

Man At Arms: Reforged is an engrossing video series that follows the blacksmiths at Baltimore Knife & Sword as they create real-world versions of fictional weapons and shields, such as Link’s Master Sword from Legend of Zelda to the Lich King’s Frostmourne fromWorld of Warcraft to Wonder Woman’s iconic shield. In their latest video, they’ve created an unlikely weapon: the shovel from the retro side-scrolling game Shovel Knight.
Swordsmith Kerry Stagmer notes at the top of the episode that he feels like users have been trolling them with suggestions that they make the shovel. But took them up on it, and they spend the entire episode overbuilding the weapon. They forge the blade, cutting edge, and socket, then later create the iconic blue handle.
It’s a goofy build, but as they demonstrate in the test at the end of the video, it’s a pretty formidable weapon.
